The Start of our Yosemite Adventures - Day 10

Yesterday was a lazy day for us. We spent the morning doing laundry and cleaning out the car. Matt is very messy! Okay, maybe I'm messy too! It was nice to get reorganized and we had beautiful surroundings to enjoy while reorganizing.

This is the view from our campsite.

After getting organized, we decided to do a bit of light hiking in Yosemite.

We hiked to this swing bridge.

Matt is now a bridge model!

The view from the swing bridge was incredible!

We felt as if we hopped right into a picture!

After hiking to the swing bridge we decided to hike to some nearby waterfalls.

There was a sign at the beginning of the trail to watch out for mountain lions. On the sign it said to grab an object (without bending down) and to throw it at them if we are approached by one. I decided to hike with a large chunk of granite in my hand, just to be safe!

The falls were beautiful!

It was a great hike with a wonderful view and we weren't even approached by mountain lions!

On our way back from Yosemite, we stopped at a farmers market and picked up some locally grown cherries! They were delicious.

We were starting to feel like professional campers so we decided to cook an actual meal over the fire instead of our usual rice and beans.

I rememberd my dad making us "hobo dinner" when we went camping so I called him and asked him how to make it. We went and got all the supplies, chopped up the potatoes, husked the corn and threw in the ground beef and baby carrots. We then seasoned it with salt and pepper. We sealed up the aluminum foil tightly and threw it on the rack above the fire. It was smelling very delicious! After 40 minutes we decided to flip our "hobo dinner" to make sure it was cooked all the way.

This is what happened when we went to flip it. The bag ripped and it fell all over the ground! We were so upset! All of our hardwork, wasted! We soon developed a case of the giggles and we couldn't stop laughing at the ridiculousness of the situation!

We did manage to salvage some of it! Yes, it is burnt. :(

Even though it was a rough evening, the night was ended by this beautiful reminder!

Today we are off to explore Yosemite some more!
